Mini-Me Friday #3
So, I'm not very Mini, I'm guessing. I had to skip my meeting last night because of a stomach "issue" which has since resolved itself, but it was a bad week.
I am working on not eating everything in sight, even if it's not such a bad choice food-wise. Having to write it all down and see the number of exchanges I have allowed for the day go clicking off just well, it stinks, pretty much. I like to eat. I'm hungry a lot. So, now I'm trying to figure out if I'm REALLY hungry a lot or if I'm just bored. Or tired. Or worried. Or sad.
Basically, I'm trying to figure out what is motivating me to be so hungry. (And before you suggest it, I've allowed plenty of breastfeeding calories.)
So. There ya go. I still like food. I still like a lot of it. Sort of a problem in the mini-me category.
Oh, and I worked out twice last week. We dealt with sick kids but that's a whole different Oprah so I'll just leave it at that.
My verse this week was Proverbs 20:4 "May He give you the desires of your heart and make all of your plans succeed."
I have to laugh...this week, the desires of my heart involved macaroni & cheese, chocolate, pizza, etc. Probably a good thing that they weren't given to me in the literal sense. Ha!

Ya gotta cut yourself some slack. The pressures of having a baby and 2 small kids are bound to have an affect on you.....dont be hard on yourself, just keep plugging along. I love to eat too (and I do it almost every minute of every day! ugh.), but I have noticed since I am drinking green tea a few times per day, I am not nearly as hungry and I have much more energy.
In the mini-me marathon, you've got to look at the big picture rather than focus on one bad week. For me, a food journal is a real waist-saver! That, and 100-calorie-mini-packs of cookies! Don't give up!
I love your honesty Tara. I love to eat too. When I've tried to identify why I eat, this is what I came up with...
I eat when I'm sad.
When I'm bored.
When I'm mad.
When I'm with friends.
When I'm alone.
When I watch TV.
When I'm at the computer.
Okay, you get the picture! Basically I just LIKE food. And I don't think that's going to change. So I do my best. I count calories. And every week or so, I give myself a day off. So far it's been working for me. Hang in there!
I still think you're doing great- you are still making the effort and that's a huge part of the battle!
Hang in there. This is a STINKING HARD journey! I have been in this thing for 4 months now and I am finally starting to see a real difference, so perseverance is key and taking it one day at a time. You can do it!!
Oh honey, I have no idea how you do it. With three kids, I wouldn't have time to even eat! LOL! You are doing great just by thinking about it!
